Sunnylaw Meadow Update

In early 2024, after running a community survey, Bridge of Allan Community Council approached DISCOVER BRIDGE OF ALLAN about the purchase of the Sunnylaw meadow site which was up for sale by auction from the existing developer.

Recognised as a greenspace that is valuable to the community, residents had expressed a desire for this land to move into community ownership rather than being sold for further development.

DISCOVER BRIDGE OF ALLAN, set up as a Development Trust for the benefit of the village, was well placed to be able to purchase the land and with the help from generous donors we are currently in the process of doing this.

The legalities aren’t quite done yet- we will let you know when the land finally belongs to the community!

In the meantime, DISCOVER BRIDGE OF ALLAN have set up a volunteer-led management group who will oversee the ongoing management and safeguarding. As soon as the land is ours, we will look to engage with community further on use and maintenance.
