Live in Bridge of Allan
Make Bridge of Allan your Home
When Fairview International School chose to branch out from Asia to Europe, they came to Bridge of Allan. Why? Not just because of our stunning scenery, welcoming community or fantastic transport links – but because we are recognised as one of the safest towns in the world.
Bridge of Allan is one of the most sought after places in the country to live – and as residents, we’re not surprised! Beyond the visitor offering of quality bars & restaurants, boutique retailers and entertainment, there’s a maze of leafy residential streets and a strong sense of community – people looking out for one another, local events, places for children to learn, play and grow into their best selves.

Although renowned for the Victorian era sandstone properties which dominate Bridge of Allan, our town also has a mix of more modern public and private housing, as well as a selection of sheltered homes. We recommend consulting with local estate agents for the most up to date information and detail on the local housing market.

Bridge of Allan has three children’s nurseries – Lecropt Nursery & Out of School Care at the North end of the town next to the train station, and Bright Starts Day Nursery next to the University. The third is at Bridge of Allan primary school, on Pullar Avenue.
Both the primary school and Wallace High School on Airthrey Road have active Parent Teacher Associations, which meet regularly and are very welcoming of new members. Parents can submit placing requests to Dunblane High School, a few miles up the road, although these are subject to availability. Fairview International School is a private school situated on Kenilworth Road, with new boarding facilities due to open in the town later in the year.
We also have the University of Stirling right on our doorstep, boasting one of the most scenic campuses in the world!

The council owned Allan Centre on Fountain Road is Bridge of Allan’s main community centre. This great value facility is available to book for public meetings, indoor sports, training events, community activities adult learning or youth work. There are four community halls, including a games hall, with capacity for up to 200, kitchen facilities, disabled access and loop systems in two of the rooms.
The local library and health centre are both next to the Allan Centre.
Our two pharmacies can be found on Henderson Street – as well as a public access defibrillator, which has been installed on the wall of the Allanwater Café. We are grateful to Maurice and Ella Bechelli, as well as Gary Drummond and Forth Valley First Responders for providing the town with this lifesaving equipment.

Bridge of Allan is blessed with a wealth of outdoor space to enjoy and we invite you to do so at your leisure.
Pullar Memorial Park at the far end of Henderson Street was donated to the community after World War 1, as a location for a War Memorial, by Major Edmund Pullar. More recently, it was honoured with the International Green Flag Award in 2019, thanks in particular to the hard work of the Friends of Bridge of Allan who work tirelessly to maintain the park for all to enjoy.
Fountain Road Park, opposite the Health Centre, is a fantastic children’s playpark with modern equipment including a wheelchair accessible roundabout, swing and picnic bench - installed recently, following an incredible effort by local resident Jennifer Rutherford who campaigns for greater equality for families with disabled children.
