About Discover Bridge of Allan
Our Vision & Mission
Discover Bridge of Allan is a community development trust, set up to promote our beautiful town to new and existing visitors.
Our vision is to establish the town as one of Scotland’s leading destinations of choice. Building on our historical and cultural assets, we are working with our community to create a modern, dynamic place to live, work, study, invest and visit, taking account of our cultural and historical assets. We’re committed to adopting sustainable approaches to improving our town’s local economy, amenities and environment.
Our mission is to develop Bridge of Allan’s visitor appeal, by promoting our outstanding offer – including food and drink, retail, culture, history, leisure and access to nature – with a strong brand and online presence.
This will provide opportunities to develop our town’s amenities, support community development and enhance environmental sustainability. Local people are at the heart of our decision-making and we’re dedicated to developing an inclusive town that embraces ownership and belonging.

Euan has worked in the licence trade in Scotland since 1990 in various operational and project roles. Most notably Operations Director at Belhaven. Since then he has owned and operated a number of bars, restaurants and a hotel.
He currently is part of the senior team at The Signature Group and heads up the Cold Town Brewery at Scot Brew.
Euan comments “As a resident of Bridge of Allan for some 18 years I understand and appreciate the significant resources the village has to offer. I wanted to boast to all that would listen about the village and its people. This project delivers the conduit to allow that to happen.”

Isabel worked in academia as a social researcher for several years before she was forced to retire on the grounds of ill-health. She has previously volunteered in a range of capacities, including for the Citizens Advice Bureau in Dundee. She moved to Bridge of Allan in 2023 and fell in love with the town, community and surrounding area. Her interests lie in supporting the environmental sustainability of Bridge of Allan, and, as a wheelchair user, in developing access to the community’s resources for all.

I moved to Bridge of Allan in 1983 when I bought the Queens Hotel on Henderson Street.
As a Hotelier, I immediately met lots of friendly locals and I quickly realised what an amazing place to which I had moved. The quality of the hospitality outlets and the varied selection of independent retailers made socialising and shopping locally a wonderful experience.
Not only is there so much to do in the area but the village is also a perfect place to raise a family.
That warm, welcoming feeling has never left me and now, nearly 40 years later, I want to help to continue the village legacy and give back to the community.
I was always disappointed that more people did not know about this delightful place and now we are in the digital age there is the potential to tell the entire world through the internet.
I see the “Discover Bridge of Allan” project as a sustainable community and business led opportunity to develop the village and shape its future. I am delighted to support the project and continue to volunteer my services.

I moved from Aberdeen to Bridge of Allan in September 2013 with my husband Robin and Newfoundland dog.
I worked in banking for many years before moving into local government working with North Ayrshire Council then Aberdeen City Council.
I have been on the committee of The Newfoundland Club for 6 years as treasurer and have always wanted to become involved in my local community.
I was delighted to be introduced to the board members of Discover Bridge of Allan and thrilled at being offered the opportunity to join the team and be able to give a little back to this fantastic place we live in.

I am a former Senior Police Officer who retired as Head of Counter Terrorism and Covert Specialist Training at Police Scotland in 2022.
During a near 3 decade long career, I spearheaded the design and delivery of cutting-edge national training programmes, led and coordinated international serious organised crime investigations, and made significant national improvements to the Police service across his portfolio.
Since my retirement, I have focussed on charity fundraising for the Eilidh Brown Respite Home in Thornhill through completion of numerous endurance challenges, notably completing a solo cycle, unaided, from Stirling Castle to The Colosseum in Rome, Italy in 2023, raising £35,000 for the charity in the process. A fundraiser through endurance challenges for over 25 years, I won the Charitable Contribution Award at the Central FM Local Hero Awards in 2023.
I also volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland, providing counsel and support to those who have suffered loss.
I have lived in Bridge of Allan for the last 9 years with my wife Ally and our dog Hudson.
